Why Spring is the Best Time for Exterior Painting Projects

Wind, rain, snow, and cold moisture from winter climates can take a toll on building exteriors. Aside from the wear and tear that is visible from the outside, it’s important to keep the exterior of your structure in good condition from a functional standpoint, as well. This will ensure your customers and employees not only have a positive first impression of your business but are also protected when they enter or are walking by it.

Here are a few ways to “spring” into your exterior projects after the colder winter months:

Exterior Commercial Painting

The best time to paint your exterior is when the surface and air temperatures are above 40 degrees for an extended period during the day. Most paints will dry properly after 2-3 hours at that temperature, while primers require slightly warmer temperatures at 50 degrees. With average temperatures in the Tri-State area hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit or more with relatively low humidity, the spring months are a great time to tackle your exterior painting jobs.

Our experienced team has more than four decades of experience in commercial and industrial painting spaces and knows the proper temperature that the air, paint, substrate, dewpoint, and relative humidity must be at to ensure your next job is successful.

Commercial Waterproofing

Waterproofing is important for any building with the potential for exterior moisture contact. Not only does waterproofing help keep up the structural integrity of your building, but it also keeps your customers and staff safe from toxins like mold and mildew.

Common exterior surfaces including concrete walls, floors, balconies, and structural steel require different waterproofing materials to stand up to the elements and withstand varying temperatures. Working with a contractor, like Alpine, who is well-versed in waterproofing products and application procedures will ensure your building, customers, and employees remain safe and well-protected in your facility.

Commercial Masonry

Masonry repairs, including concrete spalling and brick or tuck pointing, are perfect for the spring months. And, rather than completely replacing your masonry system, here at Alpine we offer both repair and painting services to keep your masonry structurally sound and looking new for a fraction of the price.
