Hiring a Painting Professional for Your Communications Equipment

Communications equipment is not your run of the mill painting surface. Although most of the structural components hosting communication devices are considered low maintenance materials, the casings, fastenings, cable trays, and all other related hardware on the equipment require carefully detailed surface preparation and coating systems. This special treatment is not only because of the sensitivity and expense associated with the material, but because the equipment must match the structure on which it is being installed.

The first step with a proper paint job is to remove any existing material that will interfere with the integrity of a new coating. You want to find a professional painter that will abrasive blast your metal communication equipment and hand-sand your fiber or fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) equipment, such as antennas. Coating methods will differ between surfaces and this is contingent upon the elasticity of the object. Once the appropriate coating is applied to the surface and the device is mounted to the structure, the painting professional should be able to match the color of both surfaces.

Whether handling equipment laid out in the shop or equipment mounted to building facades, tanks, monopoles, or billboards, you want to find an industrial painter that will get the job done proficiently, but timely. The communications industry is a 24-hour business that must not be interrupted by simple maintenance painting. Find a painter that is willing to work around your needs and one that will understand and respect your flow of operations.

One last qualification to consider before hiring a painter for your communications equipment is safety. Painting equipment that is mounted on tall towers and tanks is a risky job that should be left to experienced professionals. The proper guidelines should be enforced as well as the proper liability coverage. Alpine uses a systematic approach to each project to make sure every precaution is taken to eliminate hazards and reduce the chance of injury. Our safety program, liability coverage, OSHA guidelines and environmental procedures assure that the project is completed on time with minimum risk.

Valuable equipment shouldn’t be painted by just any professional. Alpine Painting has over 39 years of experience in painting cellular equipment as well as tanks, towers, and buildings. We work with tower owners, cellular contractors and carriers to assure their expensive equipment is protected and the coatings perform as expected. Alpine knows what it takes to get the job done right and how to be a painting professional you can trust.
