We use many different types of sandblasting abrasives and media including coal slag, black beauty, copper slag, 20/40 grit, crushed glass, steel shot, garnet, aluminum oxide, baking soda, and dry ice pellets. Our shop blasting experts know which media will work best on your equipment. Some of the items that we have blasted include structural steel, pressure vessels, trucks, trailers, chaises, mason dumps, backhoes, front loaders, generators, railings, cellular communication equipment and many other rusted metals.
Having proper surface preparation is vital to the success of any paint job. Alpine performs both shop and field sandblasting. Inside our shop is a fully contained blast barn equipped with required safety mechanisms such as dust collectors, a steel floor and explosion proof lighting. Our ability to adhere to safety protocols has earned Alpine the PDCA National Safety Award for the last four consecutive years while serving Northern NJ, Central NJ, and Southern NJ.
After the surface is sandblasted down to bare metal we apply a high performance industrial coating system. Typically a three coat paint system, including Zinc, Epoxy and Urethane Paint is applied to give the equipment up to a 20 year life expectancy. We utilize multiple, state of the art, spray booths with down draft ventilation and radiant heat to assist in the paint curing process.
All of our industrial sandblasters and painters have gone through a demanding training process and have received the proper certifications to handle a multitude of blasting projects.
