Since we are experts in commercial and industrial painting we are often the first choice when it comes to jobs that directly affect peoples’ health. An example of such a project is water tank rehabilitation. Older water tanks often contain lead based paints which are extremely toxic when consumed. This lead based paint requires proper lead abatement and disposal which is certified by the SSPC. If proper measures are not taken, particulate may enter the drinking water and harm the populous. Alpine has received the QP-2 certification and can thereby be trusted to perform such projects without endangering the public.
In March of 2013 Alpine was awarded a contract for the rehabilitation of two Morris county water tanks. Alpine was to rehabilitate two Morris county MUA tanks: the Dover Chester Road tank, and the Mine Hill tank. The repairs on the Dover Chester tank were extensive. The tank required numerous interior and exterior repairs. All of these repairs had to follow AWWA (American Water Works Association) standards in order to prevent possible contamination of drinking water. Alpine was chosen due to our experience in dealing with the rehabilitation of water storage tanks (i.e. the Essex county Short Hills tank).
