Why Winter is a Great Time to Paint Your Interior

Winter isn’t exactly the first season that comes to mind when someone mentions painting. However, it can actually be the perfect time to focus on interior painting projects!

Here are a few reasons our expert team of painters recommends saving your interior painting projects for the cooler months.

The Conditions

Believe it or not, painting conditions for interiors may actually be better in the fall and winter. The air generally has less humidity, depending on where you reside, and the temperatures are lower which can help paint dry faster.

Just remember, regardless of the season, if you’re painting indoors you’ll want to ensure you have proper ventilation. Opening windows and turning on fans are easy ways to keep the air flow moving inside. We also recommend choosing a low VOC emission paint or a no VOC paint, which will ensure the paint you’re using is safe for you and the environment around you.

Professional availability

Since most businesses tend to save their painting and construction projects for warmer weather, there is generally more availability in the fall and winter months. This means you’ll have more options available in terms of dates for your project and will likely benefit from off-season discounts or the ability to negotiate your price.

One less project for the summer

With interior painting completed in the winter, you’ll free up time (and money!) for exterior projects on your list that might be more conducive to the warmer months. Plus, you’ll be able to spend the rest of the winter months enjoying your new, fresh paint job!

If you’re ready for your next interior paint job or have questions about completing your project in the winter, give us a call. Our expert team of painting professionals has decades of experience with interiors and exteriors and is ready to help with your next project.
