Storage Tanks Sharing the Halloween Spirit

Meet Smiling Jack, the world’s largest Jack-O-Lantern. This 3,360,000 gallon storage tank has been smiling at the ConocoPhillips’ Wilmington Refinery since 1952. This unique tank has 18 foot tall eyes and a 73 foot long smile. It takes over 100 gallons of paint to coat this massive orange, black and white storage tank. The refinery expects more than 30,000 visitors who want a close-up look at this industrial painting wonder. The workers at the refinery hand out goody bags every Halloween filled with Cracker Jacks.

If you are looking for an industrial painting company to paint your next storage tank, consider Alpine Painting and Sandblasting Contractors. With 38 years of experience our teams have the experience to tackle the largest tank painting projects in the NJ, NY, CT & PA areas.
