Raging Fire Consumes Paterson Warehouse, Threatens Neighboring Buildings

This past Sunday, May 22nd 2022, several dozen firefighters doused a roaring pre-dawn fire that destroyed a warehouse owned by one of the Silk City's oldest businesses while threatening neighboring buildings. Flames shooting through the roof met firefighters when they arrived at the Levine Industries warehouse on Florida Avenue near East Railway Avenue shortly after 4:30 a.m. The roof eventually collapsed as they worked to drown the fire from various angles, keeping it contained.
First and foremost everyone is safe. There were no injuries reported. Our next door neighbor, Levine Industries, which makes boxes and packaging materials, has operated in Paterson for more than 85 years and sadly experienced a total loss of their warehouse.
Alpine Painting’s Headquarters sustained minor damage from a two alarm and is being restored. This process will take a few weeks. We have some office staff still working remotely. But our field team is back in full force. Thank you for all who reached out to check in on our people & wellbeing. We appreciate your patience until we are 100%.
