Paterson, NJ
One of the building and service industry’s largest trade associations, the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (St. Louis, MO), announced that Paterson, New Jersey based Alpine Painting and Sandblasting Contractors, won the industrial classification of its Picture It Painted Professionally Award.
The 2008 award showcased the challenges to surface preparation and recoating surfaces in an animal and food waste recycling facility. Upon contract award, after a rigorous specification and pre-qualification process, Alpine’s industrial engineering department determined worker and property protection procedures.
Surface cleaning, preparation, priming and painting of this specialized facility included storage tanks, buildings, piping and supports, catwalks and fire suppression systems throughout a vast 200,000 sq/ft operation. Surface cleaning required the use of a 36,000 psi pressure washing unit, 12 times more powerful than conventional equipment and chemical emulsifiers applied under strict compliance procedures.
The facility was able to maintain full operation without delay or incident throughout the entire project. The award recognized only 2 contractors in the industrial classification from the more than 60,000 industrial facilities believed to be repainted in the US each year.
Alpine Painting and Sandblasting Contractors, Inc. has been providing procedure-driven painting and related services to industrial and commercial facility operators in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut for more than 30-years.
