How Technological Advances in Estimating Software Helps Alpine Deliver Unmatched Service

We are always on the cutting edge of technology here at Alpine Painting & Sandblasting Contractors, whether it's the software we use to estimate your order or updating projects in the field. Watch this video (Below) or read on to learn how we use new technology in our industrial, commercial, and flooring sectors within our company.

Transcript:

Dave Scaturro - Commercial Project Estimator: Technology is a key component to incorporate into our company to provide the best end product and service to our customers. We utilize technology in different ways. One way that I work hand in hand with technology is through an in-house custom estimating program. We utilize a program that incorporates Microsoft Office and Excel in order to provide an accurate estimate and a proposal that's consistent and easy to use and break down for our customers, so I'm giving you a fair price and a consistent price each and every time I write a quote.

Environmental, Safety & Quality Manager: Since I've come on board, we've changed a lot about our technology in this country. Once that's the most recent that I've actually helped do myself is the implementation of a tablet system in the field.

Industrial Project Manager: In the past, Alpine has used large books with the plans, specs... y'know, all the pertinent data relating to the job, in a binder. The problem with the binder is, as the job goes on, things tend to change, and making sure the binder is kept up to date has proved to be cumbersome, especially in the field. We've found that with the iPads, everything can be done electronically over the Wi-Fi and antenna system. That way I can send submittals directly to my guys in the field without having to actually go out there.

Environmental, Safety & Quality Manager: We're using these iPads to take one big leap forward and stay ahead of the curve, for quality, for safety, and overall just the general productivity of the company, and it has a lot of great potential in what it can bring to us.

Grace Basinska - Office Coordinator: Definitely, during the last 20 years, technology changed the face of our company a lot.

Technology is very important in the accounting world. We always have to be up to date with tax issues, updating information into our files, making sure that the correct information is kept in order to reach the right department. Email, phone, fax, the accounting program itself -- everything is important in order to get the job done.

Steve Scaturro - Founder: Alpine prides itself on being on the cutting edge. We are always the first to try new technology, new systems, whether it's new computers, the iPads -- we're up in the cloud. We're doing things completely different than we've ever done, to new equipment. We have sprayers that are computer operated. It is amazing how much technology has changed in the last few years.

Sam Sacturro - Industrial Project Estimator: Cutting-edge technology and cutting-edge equipment is one of the backbones of what makes Alpine's industrial business so strong. Manufacturers come to us because they knew we not only have the equipment; we're trained on the equipment and we know how to produce using that equipment and we've done it over and over again. So whether it be a plural component spray rig, of which we have several and different types that spray anything from foams and polyureas to hundred-percent solid epoxies to elastomeric polyurethanes, or whether it be grit recycling equipment where we're actually taking a recyclable media, and we keep reusing it over and over and over again so we can take something that may have had 20 dumpsters or 10 dumpsters of waste going out and being thrown away into a landfill and turn it into 20 or 40 drums of waste going out into a landfill. So these things, the environmental impact of all these areas are big concerns for Alpine and it's one of the things that we do pay close attention to in staying on the cutting edge of technology."
