Alpine Painting Cleans Famous Sculpture in Madison Square Park, NYC

Alpine Painting & Sandblasting Contractors was contracted to clean the exterior of "Echo". This piece of art was created by Spain’s Famous Artist Jaume Plensa and installed at New York City’s Madison Square Park in Manhattan, NY. This was a sensitive project because of the height of the structure and it’s delicate fiberglass exterior. Our industrial blasters utilized slurry blasting techniques to carefully clean her face without damaging the artwork. Through the Slurry Blasting process we mixed crushed glass and water to remove the existing staining and provide a clean final look for our customer. The piece will only be up until Aug. 14th, 2011 so check it out now before it’s gone.
