1. What types of industrial facilities does Alpine service?

Alpine Painting works with a wide range of industrial facilities across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. This includes manufacturing plants, processing facilities, warehouses, logistics centers, pharmaceutical and cleanroom environments, power generation plants, water and wastewater treatment facilities, food and beverage facilities, and chemical storage sites.

Our teams are fully trained to handle the safety, compliance, and operational needs unique to each type of industrial environment. Whether the client needs structural steel painting, tank lining, epoxy floor systems, corrosion control, or scheduled shutdown maintenance, Alpine has the manpower, equipment, and certifications to deliver results safely and efficiently.
With more than 50 years of experience, Alpine understands how to work around sensitive machinery, production lines, and regulatory requirements, making us a trusted industrial coatings partner for facility managers and engineers.

2. What are the benefits of industrial painting?

Industrial painting does much more than improve appearance. High-performance coatings protect a facility’s infrastructure from corrosion, chemicals, moisture, abrasion, and extreme temperatures. This protection extends the lifespan of equipment, tanks, steel structures, and concrete surfaces, helping prevent costly repairs or unexpected shutdowns.

Industrial painting also improves workplace safety by enhancing visibility, defining work zones, providing slip-resistant floors, and meeting OSHA and industry labeling requirements.
For industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and cleanrooms, specialty coatings also support sanitation, sterilization, and compliance with FDA or GMP standards.
When applied by trained professionals, industrial coatings deliver long-term performance that keeps operations running smoothly and reduces total cost of ownership.

3. What industrial coatings does Alpine specialize in?

Alpine Painting applies a wide range of high-performance industrial coatings designed to protect surfaces in harsh environments. These include epoxy coatings, urethane systems, zinc-rich primers, high-temperature coatings, chemical-resistant coatings, elastomeric and moisture-cure systems, intumescent fireproofing, antimicrobial coatings, and specialty systems approved for food, pharma, or hygienic environments.

We also provide internal and external tank linings, secondary containment coatings, waterproof membranes, and corrosion-control systems engineered for steel, concrete, and heavy-duty industrial surfaces.
Our NACE-certified inspectors ensure every coating system is selected based on your facility’s conditions, exposure risks, and long-term performance requirements.

4. How often should an industrial facility be repainted?

Repainting frequency depends on several factors, including the environment, the exposure level, and the type of coating system used. In general:
• Exterior steel should be repainted every 5–10 years
• Tank exteriors and structural steel may require repainting every 5–7 years
• Interior industrial spaces vary widely based on chemical exposure and moisture
• Floors typically require recoating every 3–5 years

However, facilities in high-corrosion environments (water treatment, chemical plants, coastal zones) may require more frequent inspections or touch-ups.
Alpine offers maintenance programs that include routine inspections, early corrosion detection, and scheduled coating upkeep to extend the lifespan of your facility’s assets and reduce long-term costs.

5. What is the best paint system for high-humidity or chemical environments?

High-humidity and chemical-exposed environments require coatings engineered for durability and resistance. Epoxy coatings are typically the best choice for areas exposed to moisture, chemicals, or frequent washdowns because they bond tightly to the substrate and form a hard, protective surface.

For environments with chemical fumes or direct chemical contact, chemical-resistant epoxies, novolac epoxies, and urethane topcoats provide stronger resistance and longer protection.
Facilities such as pharmaceutical plants, wastewater treatment facilities, food processing plants, and chemical storage areas benefit from specialized systems designed specifically for those industries.
Alpine’s experts assess your environment, exposure risks, and compliance requirements to select a coating system that performs reliably and meets all regulatory standards.

6. Does Alpine provide tank painting and lining services?

Yes. Alpine specializes in both internal and external tank painting and lining for potable water tanks, wastewater tanks, chemical storage tanks, fuel tanks, and silos. Our tank lining systems are engineered to resist corrosion, pressure, chemical exposure, and temperature fluctuations.

We follow strict safety protocols and utilize confined-space certified crews, along with NACE-certified inspectors who oversee surface preparation, coating application, and testing.
Whether your tank requires abrasive blasting, high-build lining, or complete rehabilitation, Alpine has the expertise and equipment to ensure long-term protection and compliance with industry standards.

7. What surface preparation methods does Alpine use before painting?

Surface preparation is the foundation of any long-lasting coating system. Alpine uses industry-standard methods including abrasive blasting, power washing, dry ice blasting, solvent cleaning, mechanical preparation, and chemical surface cleaning depending on the substrate and coating requirements.

We follow SSPC and NACE guidelines to ensure each surface reaches the correct profile for maximum coating adhesion.
Proper surface prep prevents coating failure, blistering, and rust bleed-through, ensuring your investment lasts for years.

8. Can Alpine work during plant shutdowns or off-hours?

Absolutely. Alpine’s Scheduled Shutdown Services are designed specifically for facilities that cannot afford downtime. We work nights, weekends, holidays, and pre-planned shutdown periods to complete painting and maintenance without interrupting production.

Our team coordinates with your operations department to plan safe, efficient execution that minimizes risk and maximizes uptime.
This allows facilities to complete major coating or cleaning projects during slow periods or maintenance windows.

9. How does Alpine handle confined space painting projects?

Confined space projects require specialized training and strict safety oversight. Alpine uses confined-space certified, respirator-trained crews, continuous air monitoring, proper ventilation, rescue procedures, and NACE-certified inspectors for all tank, pit, vault, and silo projects.

Safety plans are drafted before work begins, including hazard analysis, equipment requirements, and emergency protocols.
This approach ensures compliance with OSHA standards and the safe execution of every confined-space job.

10. Does Alpine provide coating inspections or NACE-certified QA documentation?

Yes. Alpine offers complete inspection services performed by NACE-certified coating inspectors. We document surface preparation, environmental conditions, coating thickness, material batch numbers, adhesion testing, dry-film thickness readings, and final quality assurance reports.

This documentation ensures compliance with specifications, regulatory requirements, and warranty terms.
Clients receive a full project record for audits, insurance, and long-term maintenance planning.
