Is Your Retail Store an Inviting Space?

Is Your Retail Store an Inviting Space?

Have you ever stopped to think, does my retail store represent who I am as a business owner? Is my store a place I would like to shop? The appearance of the interior and exterior of your building is more important than you think. It can make or break your customers’ desire to shop there.

First things first, your building must be waterproofed. Whether your coating system includes high performance caulk and sealants to expansion joints or highly resistant elastomeric coating to the surface of your building, your system must prevent moisture buildup. You don’t want to allow mold or mildew to accumulate, or worse, allow your retail store to crack and potentially corrode. A strong, leak-proof structure is the start to a customer-welcoming environment.

The color of your building should embody how you want your customers to feel as they shop. Believe it or not, there is a psychology of color. Walls can reflect moods. Look at the bold yellow and blue applied to the exterior of this Ikea. The electric hues do more than catch your eye; they boost energy (and we all know energy is needed when it comes to furniture shopping.) Colors should be used to inspire customers and more importantly, inspire them to buy your products.

Maybe paint isn’t the route you want to take; perhaps, you might consider applying wall coverings to the interior of your building. New wall coverings can dramatically transform your space, and protect and increase the value of your property. Some options include vinyl, grass cloth, and fabric. Experienced wall covering companies, such as Alpine, can even apply customized coverings. We work with top wallcovering manufacturers who can customize your wall covering with your company logo, a picture, or other designs you may prefer.

Renovating your space does not mean you have to compromise the historical integrity of it. Alpine has almost 4 decades of experience in historical restoration and painting. Preservation work requires the services of skilled tradesmen and an understanding of the methods employed when the structure was built. Mom and Pop stores are most notable for their antique charm and their owners should hire a contractor that they can trust. Alpine understands the attention to detail required to conserve the building’s historical charisma and will do whatever it takes to make our customers happy.
