Apprentice
Must be interested in leaning the Commercial/Industrial Sandblasting & Painting trade. Must be a hard worker, always paying close attention and eager to learn. Willing to perform labor intensive work regularly lifting 20 to 50 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs. Interested in leaning about quality control, safety and why they are important to a successful job.
Painters/Sandblasters
Performs work correctly and thoroughly as dictated by the job supervisor in a safety- oriented manner. Painters are required to provide their own grip, tools including, but not limited to: hammer, screwdrivers, scrapers, adjustable wrench, pliers, etc. Requires general understanding of paint testing equipment such as wet and dry mil gauges and profile comparator. Also, good understanding of volume solids of coatings and how wet film relates to dry film. The work is performed both in and out of doors. A person who has good skills and knowledge relating to commercial & industrial painting, a person who has reguard for safety with respect to himself & others, a person who understands all equipment involved in sandblasting and can operate and use it correctly and efficiently a person who understands different types of coatings & equipment and how to correctly use them in conjunction and efficiently. This job is medium to heavy in nature requiring the ability to lift and carry 20-50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally. Careful attention paid to warning signs, flags, and ropes is critical. In addition, the use of personal protective equipment is strongly enforced on each job site.
Foreman
Must have 10+ years experience in the Commercial and Industrial Painting & Sandblasting Trade. This person must be a leader. They must have the knowledge and skill to not only perform high quality work but to teach the painters a more efficient and perhaps safer way to perform their daily tasks. Must have expertise with many types of high performance coating systems including epoxies, urethanes, elastomerics, alkyds and more. Must have expertise in all forms of sandblasting and many types of structures on which this may be performed. Must have a full knowledge of the safety requirements necessary for construction sites. Must work cooperatively with all employees to create a good working environment. Must have excellent communication with owners, owners representatives, inspectors, and all other personnel involved in a painting/sandblasting project. NACE and SSPC training is preferred, as well as a NJ Lead Supervisor Certification Card.
Project Managers
Plan, lead and organize jobs to meet company objectives. Properly completes daily billing sheet/reports, safety forms, and P.O.'s. Completes quantity surveys and prepares bids and proposals. May assist management in setting policy decisions when requested. Conducts weekly safety meetings and hazardous waste orientation meetings. Understands, enforces and teaches effective hazardous waste management. Teaches the use of industrial painting equipment and principles. Enforces all pertinent safety rules. Performs accurate and detailed performance reviews for employees. Understands QA&C as defined by Alpine Painting & Sandblasting and job specifications. The work is performed both in and out of doors. Estimator
Provide accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates from plans of both commercial and industrial structures. Strong computer and mathematic skills are required, and proficiency with estimating software is strongly preferred. Utilizing the information from field production and material rates is imperative to continually update and refine estimates. Estimators will work with Project Managers through the completion of the project if necessary to ensure that the job is completed on-time and under budget. Estimators should have the ability to develop personal relationships with General Contractors and Owners to continue to earn their business.
Salesperson
Responsible for acquiring and effectively managing commercial and/or industrial accounts. Must pay close attention to customer service and satisfaction. Ability to define customers needs and translate into writing is key. Painting or Construction experience is preferred. Necessary to generate ones own leads. Effectively organizes handoff to project managers and may also manage materials, equipment and subcontractors. Involvement in trade/community organizations is encouraged. Must have basic computer and mathematical knowledge. Salespersons should have the ability to develop personal relationships with Facility Managers and Owners to continue to earn their business.
Administrative Assistant
Strong computer and typing skills are required. Must be pleasant and business minded when speaking to professional relations over the telephone. Must be diligent and cautious to ensure time sensitive tasks are completed quickly and accurately. Customer service and follow-up are two of the most important qualities of an administrative assistant. Filing and general secretarial duties will be required on a regular basis. Occasional lifting of 10 to 20 lbs. will be required.
