The Michael Cassidy Memorial Fund/SHAMROCK 'N' RUN 5k was organized in memory of Ben Scaturro's Best Friend, Michael Cassidy. Michael was a father, teacher, and assistant principal at Rutherford High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved life. Michael was diagnosed with grade 3 glioblastoma in March 2008 at the age of 54. Three years, treatments, and three surgeries later Michael died on May 9, 2011. The National Brain Tumor Society is the largest volunteer-based brain tumor organization in the country and is supported entirely by private and individual donations. Alpine’s management team recently returned from the PDCA’s (Painting & Decorating Contractors of America) National Expo in Las Vegas. Our company was presented three national awards. The first Award was in the charity division for our Companies involvement in the Benjamin Moore Color Care across America Project. Our second award was given to our company for our outstanding safety program. The PDCA Insurance, Safety and Loss Control Committee established the Safety Achievement Awards...

For the fifth consecutive year Alpine has been awarded the PIPP (Picture It Painted Professionally) National Painting Award through the PDCA (The world’s largest and oldest painting association) The PIPP Awards are the very first national awards to honor the very best painting contractors in the Industry. These Awards are PDCA's way of paying tribute to the work of top professional painting contractors in the world.

Last year, pranksters led by Dutch performance artist Iepe B.T. Rubingh rode their bicycles into a crowded intersection in Berlin and unloaded over 132 gallons of brightly-colored paint onto the street, effectively turning passing cars, buses and bikes into unwitting paintbrushes. Entitled “Painting Reality,” the video below showcases the beginning of this self-proclaimed case of guerilla street art as well as the final result created by the color-injected traffic.
